Philanthropy

Service to others enriches the world.
The Delta Zeta Creed says, "To those whom my life may touch in slight measure, May I give graciously, Of what is mine."
In 1954, Delta Zeta's Convention body voted to make the cause of speech and hearing our national philanthropy.

The Starkey Hearing Foundation is dedicated to building better lives for hearing-impaired people around the world. Since 1973, the Foundation has promoted hearing care awareness through the support of hearing research, education and charitable programs.
Each year, the Foundation donates thousands of free hearing aids to needy individuals and children.

The Painted Turtle offers children with serious medical conditions and their families a unique camp experience designed to foster personal growth and exploration. Our goal is to empower campers—to make new friends, try new things, build self-confidence, and become more independent in their medical care. In short, we aspire to help our campers discover all that is possible in their lives.

Gallaudet University is the world's only university with programs and services specifically designed to accommodate deaf and hard of hearing students. Students can choose from a wide variety of majors leading to a bachelor of arts or bachelor of science degree.
The Delta Zeta National Foundation has supported the University through the Delta Zeta scholarshop fund, providing funding for Gallaudet's dance studio- which was dedicated to the sorority in 1995- and ongoing financial assistance for the dance company's activities, including the trip to the national convention.
